Passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2025 at her home, at the age of 74. Now reunited with her beloved husband of over 50 years, Manfred Horst Zielinsky (2017). Loving mother of Sonja (Mark) of St Jacobs. Proud grandmother “Oma” of Max. Will be missed by her siblings Peter (Meta) Agema, Rita (Ruud) Hartwijk, and Elly (Corr) Aveling of the Netherlands; nieces Sylvia of the US, Lindsay of Australia, and Jennifer of Germany; nephews Douwe, and Marco of the Netherlands, and Peter of China; and extended family around the world. Predeceased by her parents Douwe and Sjieuwke (nee de Witt) Agema of the Netherlands and Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Antje was born and raised in the Netherlands, lived in Biak, Indonesia during her youth, started a family in Germany, and spent the second half of her life in Canada. Antje (known to many in the community as “AJ”) was a longtime crossing guard for the local school, master potter and owner of Antje’s Pottery Studio, and a member of St. Jacobs Mennonite Church. She was an artist at heart and full of boundless creative ideas. Crossing the kids was the highlight of her day. She was extremely proud of sharing her pottery knowledge with her students for more than 30 years. A private family ceremony took place at Dreisinger Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 with cremation following. A celebration of life will be announced at a future date when the warmer weather has arrived. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Woolwich Community Services or KW Humane Society would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home.
