Power was quickly restored to an Elmira neighbourhood after a concrete-pumping truck tore down lines and a utility pole Thursday morning, but crews were on scene much of the day repairing the damage.
Church Street East remained closed between Memorial Avenue and Duke Street while emergency responders and Waterloo North Hydro crews extricated the Tri City Readymix truck from under a tangle of lines, including live electrical wires. Cleanup efforts were ongoing into the evening, with a few customers still without power.
Other utilities such as cable were down throughout the day.
