One man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a tractor-trailer collided with a farm vehicle, February 6 at 2:40 pm, at the intersection of Hill Street and Northfield Drive. The trailer, a milk tanker, appeared to collide with the back end of the farm vehicle, severely injuring the driver of the farm vehicle.
The exact cause of the collision is still under investigation by Waterloo Region Police Services.
“Right now we’re just in the early stages of the investigation, but as far as we can tell, we have a single driver of each vehicle involved,” said Staff Sergeant Mike Hinsperger at the scene of the accident. “The driver of the farm vehicle has been taken to hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash currently is still under investigation.
“It appears at this point to be a rear-end type collision, with the tractor-trailer coming up behind it. Again, we’re still trying to determine exactly where the vehicles were, when they collided and why they collided.”
