Students compete in regional science fair in Kitchener
THE SPORTING LIFE Grade 8 St. Jacobs PS researchers Kendra Yantha and Karley Sider found a correlation between playing sports and achieving success. They're involvement in sports led them to research the positive outcomes of sport.
OPTIMIZING SOLAR ENERGY Nicole Lindner's project earned her a silver medal at this year's science fair at Bingemans' Marshall Hall Apr. 6. She built a device using solar technology that would mimic the movement of sunflowers following the sun's rays.
PURIFYING WATER ON THE GO Emma McGee took dye-coloured water and purified it through condensing the water with heat from a lightbulb. She also created a portable unit using a greenhouse concept. Her project earned her an honourable mention.
