Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus, at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late John Sanders (2019). Dear mother of Robert (the late Lorelee) Sanders of Elmira, Darryl (Tracey) Sanders of Kitchener, and Janine (Bill) Wendland of Elmira. Loved grandma of Mitchell, Mackenzie and Keaton Sanders; Steven and Ryan Sanders; Keely (Chris) Proper, and Kyla Wendland. Survived by sisters Kathleen Snelling and Freda (Ray) Fletcher, sister-in-law Dorothy Cassells, and dear friend Dorothy “Trixie” Walter. Predeceased by her parents Andrew and Ada (Walton) Haslam, siblings Irene, Ruth, Walter, Earl, and Lloyd, and John’s siblings Harvey, Earl, Laura, Ruby, Carl, Violet, Verna, Elmer and Ross. Millie was a longtime resident of Elmira and enjoyed the Bauman Street community. She was a loyal member of Gale Presbyterian Church, and a devoted wife and mother. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Gale Presbyterian Church, 10 Barnswallow Dr., Elmira, with a reception to follow. Interment in Elmira Union Cemetery. Donations to Gale Presbyterian Church or the Lung Health Foundation of Canada would be appreciated, and may be made through the funeral home.
