Having completed the underground services, sidewalks and curbs, crews were expected by week’s end to put asphalt down on Arthur Street in downtown Elmira, paving the way for the road to be reopened on schedule.
Underground service work has moved to Brubacher and Second streets.
On Dunke Street, reconstruction work is almost complete for this year, with only the installation of street lights to come.
Next up on the roadwork agenda is new surface asphalt for Riverside Drive West, Victoria Glen Street and another portion of Dunke Street. The project includes curb and gutter repairs, localized base asphalt repair, street cleaning, tack coat application and placement of surface asphalt. Work is expected to get underway July 27, requiring 15 working days to complete.
