Paradise and District Lions have been hard at work and are now well-dressed while doing it. Club member Annette Kuhn said the Wellesley Township group received new vests and shirts that they’ve been wearing while participating in club activities throughout the community.
Recently, charter member John Pfaffinger and past president Janet Pfaffinger were sporting the new duds in St. Clements as they presented the library with a $500 donation to be used from the summer children’s reading program. The money was raised as part of regular club fundraising activities.
While they are eagerly giving back, Paradise Lions are also receiving. Club secretary and 15-year-member Ted Rypma was presented with the prestigious 100 per cent award for performing his duties in an outstanding manner at the club’s annual Valentine’s Day dinner. The Feb. 14 event was attended by Zone 51 West chair Denise Sutherland, who presented the award to Rypma.
“This was something that was kind of special and Ted does such good work for the club,” Kuhn said.
