The 28th annual heifer sale sponsored by Ontario Mennonite Relief Sale Inc. raised $202,000 Feb. 20 for the relief and development work of Mennonite Central Committee, second-highest total to date.
In its history, the event has raised some $4 million.
The sale consisted of 104 donated heifers, as well as other items such as semen and straw bales.
“Many people contribute to the success of the sale,” noted sale committee chair Clarence Diefenbacher, thanking donors, including 20 first-time participants.
