It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Louise Bexton, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Louise left us peacefully on Thursday March 6th, 2025 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 65. Born on March 1959 in Montreal to Peter and Julia Tillich.
Louise met Dave, the love of her life, while attending the University of Windsor and they would have celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary this July. They were best friends and together they shared a life full of love, laughter, family time and many adventures while working together as business partners.
Louise is survived by her father, Peter Tillich Sr., by her husband Dave and their two children, Tristan and his fiancée Maya (of Greece), Thomas and his partner Valerie (of Elmira), and her brother Peter and his wife Kelley and their children Mary (John Cassels) and Lainee Tillich. She was loved by all of her aunts, uncles and cousins. She was the matriarch of the family and a constant source of love and support for everyone. Louise was predeceased by her mother Julia in December 2023 and niece Danielle Tillich in July 2009.
Louise was a nurturer in every sense; of plants, of indoor and outdoor spaces and of hearts. She knew how to turn the ordinary into something extraordinary, how to make a house feel like a sanctuary, and how to make people feel cherished. She was a spirited woman, gifted with so many talents; whether she was holding a paintbrush or a garden trowel or redesigning living spaces. Her green thumb was evident with her personal unique plant collection and through her transformation of every outdoor space she planned or touched. Louise has been active in many Horticultural Societies, recognizing the importance of public beautification and striving to educate and gather people who share a love of gardening.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to staff at London Health Sciences Centre and Grand River Hospital for their kind support, care and compassion.
In memory of Louise, donations to the Elmira Lions Memorial Forest would be appreciated. These donations will assist in the continuation of projects in this forest.
