Joyce (nee Loewen), beloved wife of David E. Jones for over 53 years, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Monday, October 14, 2024 at her home with her husband by her side. She had been struggling with colon cancer for over two and a half years. She is survived by her siblings Janet Jones (Andrew), Joan Rowan (Jon), Robert Loewen (Marie), and Gary Loewen (Margaret). Joyce will be missed by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. Joyce was a senior business analyst at CGI Group Inc. in Richmond Hill for many years until moving to Winterbourne on January 1, 2002 where she took over Bunnyview Commercial Rabbit Industries until its operations closed in 2017. She also assisted her husband in his accounting practice and beekeeping activities.
Much appreciation and many thanks are given to her cancer specialist Dr. Mario Valdes at Grand River Hospital, Dr. Chris Lund and the wonderful oncology department team at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. Their pleasant and compassionate treatment during the many days of tests and chemo treatments were so very much appreciated. Special thanks to Dr. Stephen Keleher from Hospice Waterloo Region, Home and Community Care Support Services, CarePartner nurses, personal service workers, and Care KW personal service workers; they all so kindly and sensitively assisted Joyce on her long journey. Cremation has taken place. Interment in Elmira Union Cemetery will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre would be appreciated and may be made through the Dreisinger Funeral Home.
