Jerome “Butch” Voisin

It is with deep sorrow we announce that Jerome (Butch) Voisin passed away suddenly on August 2, 2024 at Grand River Hospital with his loving wife and family by his side.

Butch will be profoundly missed by his beloved wife Lori Voisin of 40 years, and his dear family, Blake (Danika), Scott, Jenna (Jeff). He was a special Papa of Zachary, Emma, Reid, Kensie, Max and Nate whom he truly adored.

He will be greatly missed by his sister MaryJo O’Brien (Sean), his mother-in-law Joan Brubacher and his sister-in-laws, Michelle Voisin, Debbie Yeoman and many adoring nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pre-deceased by his parents William (Bill) Voisin (1990), Louise Voisin (2003), infant brother John Scott, best buddy and brother Brad (2018) and father-in-law Cleason Brubacher (2002).

Butch was a family man through and through, always happiest when he was attending birthday celebrations, bbq’s, family picnics and weddings. He enjoyed spending time with family and his many friends. Butch gathered people together, always with a warm handshake, a joke and lots of laughter, leaving a mark on all who knew him. He was known for his witty one liners and “Come Early, Stay Late” phrase which he sincerely extended to anyone who visited.

His family and friends who knew him will surely remember him for his sense of humour and infectious laugh.

Butch worked for the City of Waterloo for 37 years starting as a labourer and eventually reaching his goal of becoming a Firefighter from which he retired in 2013. He was the most proud of owning his own business “Butch Voisin Line Painting” where he shone in meeting new people and making connections. Butch’s legacy of kindness extended beyond his family and friends touching the lives of so many.

As we say ‘good-bye’ to our Butch, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love and laughter and an enduring spirit of generosity and community.

The family is grateful to the caring and expert staff at Grand River Hospital.
