The Wellesley Applejacks fell 7-4 to the New Hamburg Firebirds at their opener at the Wellesley arena last Saturday night. Head coach Brad Gerber says the team is going through some growing pains and it showed on the ice, especially in the first period. “We did have a bit of a slow start,” he said.
