Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, October 11, 2024 at his home in St. Jacobs, at the age of 60 years. Wayne will be remembered by his family as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son and friend. His wife Peggy (Frede) was the love of his life, faithful partner and best friend of 40 years. Cherished father of Mark (Maddie) of Gravenhurst, Adam (Kylie) of Drayton, and Carmen Hockley of St. Jacobs. Soooo loved by his grandchildren Jackson, Marlowe; and Micah. Beloved son of Allan and Doris (Evans) Hockley. Will be missed by his sister Susanne (David) Bond, his nieces, nephews, and their families. He will be remembered by his friends as passionate, loyal and always willing to lend his ear. Wayne was always ready for mischief, a Leafs game or fishing on the lake, and he was never afraid to tell those close to him just how much they meant to him. He will be remembered by his church family as a steadfast pastor, unwavering in his commitment to his Lord Jesus Christ and those that God had entrusted him to serve. Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Wallenstein Bible Chapel, 4522 Herrgott Rd., Wallenstein. Funeral service took place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Wallenstein Bible Chapel, with interment in Hawkesville Cemetery at 2 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Wallenstein Bible Chapel or Billy Graham: Canadian Rapid Response Team would be appreciated and may be made through the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.
