Peacefully she went to be with her Jesus, surrounded by family, on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton in her 91st year. We rejoice that she has been released from the cruel grip of dementia. Beloved wife of the late Leonard Brubacher (2000). Dear mother of Lorraine and Dennis Frey, Shirley and David Brubacher, Phyllis and Loye Halteman, Durrell and Elaine Brubacher, and Lynette and Wally Brubacher. Also lovingly remembered by her 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Sister of Seleda (the late Oscar) Martin, and Agnes and Henry Weber. Viola will be missed by her nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents Amsey and Sarah Martin, stillborn daughter Mary Lynn (1970), granddaughter Keirsten Halteman, brother Lloyd and Dorothy (second wife Minerva) Martin, and in-laws Eldon and Irla Brubacher, Edna Brubacher, Ian and Luida Gingrich. Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. Funeral service took place at Countryside Mennonite Fellowship, 3745 Herrgott Rd, Hawkesville on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 2 p.m. followed by interment in Hillside Cemetery. Donations to Northern Youth Programs (Dryden, Ontario) or Elmira District Community Living would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home.
