Having rebuilt after their home was destroyed by a fire a year ago, an Elmira family opened up the new house to welcome the neighbours who helped them on that terrifying Sunday night.

Mark and Jessica Docken, along with their two sons, daughter and several pets, all escaped unharmed from the blaze that gutted their bungalow on Barnswallow Drive on Oct. 21, 2024.

The event last week capped the rebuild in the wake of that fateful night.
