Maria O’Drowsky, Jackie Peacock, Elmer Zettel, Fran Vegh, Judy Kittel, Barb Nosal

The snow didn’t stop all day but that didn’t deter people coming out to the Maryhill Heritage Park Community Centre for the Annual Valentine Dinner.  This event is hosted by the Maryhill Knights of Columbus and the St. Boniface Catholic Women’s League.  The sittings were for 5 and 7 p.m.  The front foyer and hall were gaily decorated with hearts and flowers on all the tables.

Preparation began on Friday morning with the setting up of tables, placing tablecloths also the cutting of cabbage for the coleslaw.  Saturday the rest of the work began with helpful hands with the cleaning of vegetables and numerous other jobs including the arranging of  flower arrangements etc.

The meal consisted of the popular rolled ribs, mashed potatoes, creamy coleslaw, mixed vegetables, buns, pickles and relish tray.  To cap the meal there were several different kinds of pies and cake, coffee and tea.
