Catholic Women’s league make plans for the new year

The meeting for the new year for the St. Boniface Catholic Women’s League was held on Thursday, January 11th.  Mass was celebrated by Father Ron Voisin at 6:30 p.m. for the Intentions of the Living and Deceased members of the Society.  This was a brief meeting and was held in the church because of the rain and foggy weather.

This was a planning meeting for the coming year.  February – will focus on Lent. March we will have no meeting.  April – celebrating the Feast of Our Lady of Good Counsel    May – crowning of Mary.  June – Potluck at Diane Strickler’s home.

Judy Kittel spoke on how grateful the Sanguen Health Centre in Kitchener had been for receiving the donations.  Judy has thanked for her organizing this endeavour again this year.   The ladies had been asked to collect hotel size toiletries. Sanitary pads, tampons (individually wrapped), deodorant, lip balm, shampoo, nail clippers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, disposable razors, denture adhesive and cleaner.

Maria O’Drowsky spoke on the letters with the 4 resolutions she had prepared for our members to sign. She had sent these to the government and received word back from Justin Trudeau and Michael Chong.  She also received a letter back from Harold Albrecht who had received the “White Ribbons Against Pornography” that our parish members had signed.

A reminder of the Valentine Rolled Rib Dinner on Saturday, February 10th.
