Catholic Women’s League Meeting


The monthly meeting of the St. Boniface Catholic Women’s League was held on Thursday March 9th, 2017.

Mass was celebrated at 7 p.m. in church by Father Ron Voisin for the Intentions of the Living and Deceased members of our Council.

Father gave a mini–retreat following Mass. He spoke on the “Seven Last Words of Jesus from the Cross” followed by a question and answer session.

A brief meeting was held at the back of church.

On March 25th, 2017 Development & Peace will be celebrating 50 years with a special Mass at St. Joseph’s Church in Hamilton at 5 p.m.

Spiritual Life Convenor Barb Nosal spoke on the World Day of Prayer which was on Friday, March 3rd at St. Anthony-Daniel Church in Kitchener. The theme was “Am I Being Unfair to You? The program was prepared by the ladies in the Philippines. Four ladies attended from our Parish.

This year is the 100 Anniversary of the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima which took place the 13th of May In Portugal. Maria O’Drowsky & Barb Nosal will be preparing information for our May 11th meeting night and the Crowning of Mary.

Maria O’Drowsky spoke on the petition that we have been asked to circulated regarding Bill 84 and the conscience protection for health care works in regards to euthanasia and assisted suicide.

Community Life & Communications convenor Diane Strickler passed out sheets on 150 Ways to Build Community which was sent to her from the Diocese. The Carmel Guild mini-retreat & grocery shower will be held on Saturday, March 25th at the Carmelite Monastery in St. Agatha. Rosary at 10:30 followed by Mass. Celebrant will be Father Ron Voisin. This year a presentation will also be shown on Marc LaSalle from “Canada Needs Our Lady”. Diane also reminded the ladies that the parish will be collecting items for the Sisters until Good Friday.

Mary Campagnaro Organization convenor mentioned most of the memberships are now in.

Card convenor Maria O’Drowsky has sent 2 get well cards out this past month.

There will be no meeting in April because of Holy Thursday.

President Fran Vegh thanked all the ladies who helped not only at the Valentine Rolled Rib Dinner in February but also for the Confirmation reception. Their time was greatly appreciated.

The Spring Regional Meeting will be held at St. Theresa of Avila in Elmira on Saturday, March 18th at 9 a.m. Those wishing to go are asked to contact Fran Vegh.

Diocesan Convention this year will be the weekend of May 26th to May 28th at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Kitchener. More information will be coming shortly.

Reminder that the Knights of Columbus Vegas Nite will be on Saturday, April 29th at the Bridgeport Rod & Gun.
