On Thursday evening May 5 at 7 p.m. the folk dancers from St. Boniface School went to the Waterloo Recreation Centre to perform the 6 dances that they had been learning. They had so much fun!!! They performed 3 dances- Maple Leaf Stomp (Canada), Do You Love Me (USA), Pata Pata (African), The Clog Branle (France), Gustaf’s Skoal (Sweden square dance), and the Fortieth Mash Up. The Fortieth Mash Up was a combination of former dances to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Folk Dancing in the Waterloo
Catholic District School Board.
Performers were Grace Baillargeon, Maja Egredzija, Miranda Harris, Iva Milardovic, Ainsley Muir, Jocelyn O’Keefe, Reece Pooran, Kara Treutlein, Kelsey Treutlein, and Emma Vaughn-Orr. Thank you to the youth leaders-Miranda Harris, Grace Baillargeon, Iva Milardovic and Jocelyn O’Keefe for all their help. Leaders were secretary Mrs. Diane Strickler, principal Ms. Joanne Giesler and Mrs. Huber grade 6 /7 teacher.
