The Woolwich Girls Minor Hockey Association brought home two banners this weekend after winning gold and silver in provincials.
Woolwich Wild president Kevin Schmitt had nothing but praise for the players.
“We have two medalists out of the three, so that’s amazing. Midget BB got gold and Peewee B got silver, so quite an amazing achievement,” he said.

The Peewee B team also won gold at the Lower Lakes championship earlier this month.
“It’s quite the accomplishment. I’m a very proud president. I’m very happy for the girls. All of them deserve it. That’s the first gold we’ve got in … it’s been a long time. And to bring in two banners in one year is truly amazing,” Schmitt said.
In the finals the Midget BBs played Stoney Creek and beat them 4-1. The Peewee Bs played Smith Falls and they lost 3-0.
“So quite an exciting weekend, quite an eventful weekend for Woolwich.”
