The weather didn’t deter the many people who braved the cold to enjoy the annual Valentine’s Dinner hosted by the Maryhill Knights of Columbus and the St. Boniface Catholic Women’s League at the Maryhill Heritage Park Community Centre. The sittings were for 5 and 7 p.m. The hall was gaily decorated with hearts and flowers on all of the tables and around the hall. The meal consisted of the popular rolled ribs, mashed potatoes, creamy coleslaw, mixed vegetables, buns, pickles and relish tray. To cap the meal, there were several different kinds of pies and also cake, coffee and tea.
The Historical Society of St. Boniface and Maryhill Community committees were formed in 1977. Today our membership is made up of those who have a deep affection for unravelling the mysteries of the past and of those who have ancestral roots in the Parish and Community. Diane Strickler leads the Genealogy/Archives and lives in Maryhill.
