If Christmas is for kids, then a Christmas story about kids performed by kids is just the thing for the holiday season.

Just such a production – Happy Holidays From Me, Eloise – is now on stage at the Church Theatre in St. Jacobs.

Presented by If The Shoe Fits Productions, the play introduces us to a little girl who lives with her nanny at the Plaza Hotel in New York. Based loosely on the Kay Thompson books, Eloise is the classic little kid who seems to get into everyone’s business, but in a lovable way.

Haley Bauman (Eloise), Clare Bergen (seated) and Alyssa Tomlin (right) are part of an all-youth cast in the Christmas story Happy Holidays From Me, Eloise, which is now running in St. Jacobs.

With the help of her friends, she solves a mystery at the hotel involving the hotel grouch, Mrs. Thornton, and the boss’s daughter, Rachel. Eloise makes a mess, but ultimately solves a crime … with plenty of humour, naturally.

The show is directed by Charlène Le Duc and Garrett Shoemaker, who also wrote the script along with Kathy Renner.

Happy Holidays From Me, Eloise runs Nov. 14 (11 a.m., 3 p.m., 7 p.m.), Nov. 15 (11 a.m., 3 p.m.), Nov. 19 (7 p.m.), Nov. 20 (7 p.m.) and Nov. 21 (11 a.m., 3 p.m., 7 p.m.). Tickets are $5-$10, available by calling 519-591-8737 or online at www.shoefitsproductions.com.
