Made your bed, now lie in it
I don’t see a thing wrong with puttin’ the hook on funding for a riding that votes against the government. That goes double when you elect a separatist.
The mayor of some place in Quebec called Trois-Rivieres has himself in a lather because the federal government won’t kick in $2 million for some cockamamie birthday party for the town’s 375th birthday – he ought to give his head a shake.
First off, why a party for 375 years? Seems kinda arbitrary, if you ask me. Second, $2 million from the feds for something like this? That’s an awful lot of cake and ice cream, though I’m thinkin’ it’s more like just cream being skimmed off the top and into someone’s pocket.
The mayor says Stephen Harper promised ‘em money during the election campaign, but changed his mind when they elected a Blochead as MP. Seems like a fine decision to me – why should loyal folks from the rest of Canada pony up $2 million so a bunch of separatists can party it up? Not on my nickel, no way, no how.
